1 in 160 children may have ASD (1) , and present special educational resources are insufficient

There's a major shortage of Special Educators in most parts of the world. As a result, existing faculty have a high workload. Social Robots could help. Several studies show encouraging results with robots in ASD interventions. And yet, these Robots are nowhere in the actual classrooms. Most studies use Humanoid robots like NAO which are very expensive for schools specially in developing countries like India.

We thus aim to use low-cost commercially available toy robots to assist Special Educators in autism education.
